At it’s Executive meeting on 10th February, Surrey Heath Borough Council accepted the Neighbourhood Plan Examiner’s recommended modifications to the Neighbourhood Plan, and agreed that the Neighbourhood Plan should proceed to local referendum on 7th May 2026. Update – July 2025

Further comments are invited on the Chobham Neighbourhood Plan.

In June 2025 the Parish Council submitted the Chobham Neighbourhood Plan to Surrey Heath Borough Council for consultation, independent examination and local referendum prior to being ‘made’ or adopted.

The Borough Council has now published the Neighbourhood Plan for comments between until 5th September 2025. All comments should be made to Surrey Heath Borough Council and will be considered by an independent examiner. The email address is neighbourhoodplanning@surreyheath.gov.uk

Further information on the submitted Neighbourhood Plan documents and how to comment can be found via the Borough Council’s Chobham Neighbourhood Plan webpage

Update – June 2025

The Chobham Neighbourhood Plan is being prepared by Chobham Parish Council. We have reached an important milestone in the process having finalised the Submission Version of the document.

The Chobham Neighbourhood Plan is a planning policy document setting out planning and land-use policies that, once ‘made’, will set out how land should be considered in our parish, in planning terms. The policies will also be a material planning consideration in the determination of planning applications, alongside the policies of the adopted development plan documents for Surrey Heath Borough Council.

A Steering Group comprising local councillors and volunteers from the community was set up to lead the project on behalf of the Parish Council. A great deal of work has been undertaken to reach the point of having the Submission Plan, and thanks are extended to the community for your input into the process.

The Neighbourhood Plan must undergo a rigorous process. The next step will be a further consultation to be undertaken by Surrey Heath Borough Council and details of this will be provided on the Borough Council website in due course.

Once that consultation is complete, the Plan will be independently examined and, assuming this is successful, there will be a local referendum inviting residents to vote to introduce the plan formally.

The Submission Version Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents can be viewed by clicking on the list on the right-hand side of this page.
